We've loved watching the art of pouring a Guinness. It is an intricate process that can't be hurried. The glass is held on an angle as the smoky liquid fills 2/3 of the glass. Then the glass is carefully set on the bar and the bar tender walks away and tends to other business. Three or four minutes later the chocolate-coloured liquid becomes clear as the cream foam drifts to the top. The glass is held under the tap again and the final drizzle of Guinness is added carefully so the foam is not disturbed. It is a thing of beauty and, as it turns out, a lovely cool, sweet drink that calls for another!
The Guinness looks great....but oh my, it's the pudding that catches my eye!!
