Venturing beyond the pale immediately, we’re beginning with three days in Trim surrounded by prehistoric,
early Christian, and Anglo-Norman sites in all directions.
Our to-see list is long
but includes visiting the grave of my great great grandmother, Jane Wilson, in Killead, walking
the Glens of Antrim, safely viewing the murals from “The Troubles”, searching for tiny plants in the Bog of Allen, sampling Guinness and Irish Whiskey at the source, and
wandering Macguillycuddy Reeks…
How can we not have a wonderful time?
ps The Pale refers to the English-controlled area around Dublin. The rest of Ireland was beyond the pale (oh, those Irish ruffians!)

ReplyDeleteHi, I'm Jo-Ann's friend and have signed up for a tour in April. Your pictures and stories are fantastic. My trip will not be nearly as spectacular as yours, but I can't wait.
